Biography

By profession and training I am an educator with over thirty years in the classroom, having taught at the high school, middle school and graduate school level.

Originally a high school vocational teacher, I completed a degree with dual concentrations in history and political science and switched to teaching social studies at both the middle and high school levels.  After a decade in the classroom I accepted a position to become headmaster of the independent school where I taught.  During these years I also served as drama advisor and director at three different high schools simultaneously. To this day, I still hold that position at one of those schools.

Looking for a change of pace from running a school, I spent three years as Director of Education and Outreach for a professional theatre, allowing me to combine both my vocation and my avocation.  Eventually I realized that I missed the classroom, and made the decision to return to it.  I taught grades 6-12 in a small-town middle/high school.

Currently I teach instructional technology at a public middle school in the same school system where I have been the high school drama advisor for many years.  I also teach graduate courses in my specialty as adjunct faculty for the  university where I completed my own graduate degree.

My family and I reside in the home my dad built, part of which  is constructed from the remains of a 19th century barn.
